How to Celebrate Mother’s Day in Quarantine
Much like graduations or any birthdays or anniversaries that have taken place in the last two months, Mother’s Day this year just isn’t going to be the same. All the ways we usually like to show mom our love (taking her to brunch or dinner, maybe even a spa day) are no longer an option. But that doesn’t mean the day has to go to waste. Many Gables restaurants have curated a special Mother’s Day menu so that we can still celebrate our moms the way they deserve.
Bachour
The way to any woman’s heart is through her stomach. So why not show mom how much you really love her with pastries from Bachour? $55 for an entremet, a box of five petits gateaux and $8 for a piña colada tulip. Orders must be placed 48 hours in advance and orders over $100 will come with a complimentary bottle of wine. Call 305.203.0552 to order.

Threefold Café
Get your mom a basket full of all of her favorite things with a basket from Threefold Café. Each basket is $85 and contains a bouquet of six roses, a bottle of sparkling cuvee or rosé, a JoJo tea sampler, one bar of Cao Chocolate, one pint of Frice ice cream, a $25 gift certificate to Threefold and, the essentials, Nature’s Most Wanted hand sanitizer. P.S. Threefold is announcing a Mother’s Day menu soon.
Eating House
Nowhere to go for Mother’s Day brunch? No problem. Eating House is offering a family style menu complete with tater tots, candied bacon, crab cake “bocaditos” (buttered brioche and mojo crème fraîche), short rib eggs benedict, strawberry short pancakes and creamsicle French toast. When completing your order, just let them know how many people will be feasting. $35 per person. Order online at eatinghousemiami.com.
Bellmónt Spanish Restaurant
Take your mom to Spain this weekend (culinary speaking, of course). Choose from a number of family meal options like the Segovia family meal, which includes a whole suckling pig; the Huelva family meal, which comes with fresh cod from Iceland; or the Alicante family meal where you can pick a paella (seafood, Valenciana or Campesina). All meals come with a bottle of wine. Price varies depending on party size. Call or text 305.321.5077 to place your orders. Open on Mother’s Day from noon – 6 p.m.

KAO Sushi and Grill
KAO Sushi and Grill is making Mother’s Day an entire weekend with their Sushi KAO Combo of 45 pieces of sushi for $45. Available May 8 – 10. Open for takeout and delivery. Order online at kaosushigrill.com or call 786.864.1212.
La Taberna Giralda
Turn Mother’s Day into a fiesta with a dinner for 4 for $100 from tapas restaurant La Taberna Giralda. Complete with a bottle of house red or white wine, marinated olives, mixed greens salad seafood or meat paella. Call 786.362.5677 to place your orders in advance.
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse
Leave the cooking to Fleming’s this Sunday. The steakhouse’s Mother’s Day Carry Out Menu feeds four to six people. Choose a salad, entrée, one or two sides and a dessert, served family style. If you’re quarantining with a large group, Fleming’s also offers large party sides and desserts. Side dishes feed six and include chipotle cheddar mac & cheese and roasted asparagus. For dessert they have carrot cake and key lime pie bars, both serve 12. Large party sides and desserts and wine specials must be placed by May 7. Pickup available starting at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Delivery available starting at noon.

Yard House
The Shops at Merrick Park restaurant is also offering a three-course dinner to celebrate mom. Choose a starter salad like a Caesar or mixed greens salad and four entrées like their Maui pineapple chicken or whiskey glazed salmon (grilled filet or grilled ribeye are an extra $5). Then pick two sides and one dessert. The meal serves four for $80. Call 305.447.9273 to preorder.
Salumeria 104
The best part about getting takeout is that no one has to do the cooking or the cleanup. At Salumeria 104 on Miracle Mile, family menu items include a smoked salmon cream cheese quiche, beef tenderloin medallion, Alaskan cod and a wild berry tart. Preorder by 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 7 for pickup between noon and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Bulla Gastrobar
Make mom feel extra special all weekend long with Bulla’s brunch at home. Family meals starting at $40 (serves four to five people) are available on both Saturday and Sunday. Add a stack of blueberry ricotta pancakes or waffles with Nutella for $20. Toast mom with “mom-osas” to-go for $20.
Fiola Miami
Bring Mother’s Day dinner home with Fiola’s four course Mother’s Day dinner menu to-go. Choose an appetizer, first course, entrée and dessert. Options include favorites like burrata, braised lamb agnolotti, veal ossobuco and tiramisu. Serves two for $95. You can also add a charcuterie and cheese board for $42 or a baby kale salad for $25. Wine flights and cocktail kits are available, too. Order online at fiolamiami.com. Orders must be placed by 4 p.m. on Friday, May 8.

Morton’s The Steakhouse
At Morton’s, you can either have them do the cooking with their steak and lobster entrée for $59, or prepare Mother’s Day dinner at home with their chef at home kit. The former comes with a starter Caesar salad, creamed spinach or sour cream mashed potatoes, and key lime pie. The kit includes a six-ounce filet mignon and cold water lobster tail for the main course, a Caesar starter salad, two sides (creamed spinach and smoked gouda and bacon au gratin potatoes) and key lime pie. The kit for two is $109 or for four is $199. With both options you can add a bottle of Veuve Clicquot for $59.
