Coral Gables City Hall will be evacuated next month as the city begins a long-planned restoration of the 1928 landmark. The project includes structural repairs to its limestone colonnade, exterior restoration, and the revival of the original Garden Courtyard, with completion expected in 2028.
At night, Threefold Café transforms into something entirely different. Behind the lights and low hum of conversation is Haider Hachem, one of only eight Masters of Sake in the world, pouring house-brewed sake at Shōjō’s Dojo. What began as a home experiment evolved into formal training at a 176-year-old brewery in Japan and, now, into Florida’s first sake brewery. Alongside Asian-inspired bites and guided tastings, the Dojo offers a closer look at the craft, discipline, and philosophy behind every pour.
Coral Gables residents no longer need to leave the city to renew a driver’s license. The new Miami-Dade Tax Collector’s Office at 224 Minorca Ave. offers license renewals, REAL ID updates, vehicle registration, and tax services in a streamlined setting just off Ponce de Leon Boulevard. With walk-ins available and appointments recommended, the office brings essential county services directly to the City Beautiful, reducing what was once a time-consuming errand to a brief stop close to home.
