Shared Spaces | Frost Wind Ensemble

The Frost Wind Ensemble presents “Shared Spaces,” a contemporary music program featuring percussionist Svetoslav “Svet” Stoyanov and the world premiere of James David’s “Concerto for Wind Ensemble.”

The concert includes Mason Bates’ “Sideman,” featuring Stoyanov in a work that explores the relationship between percussion soloist and ensemble through contrasting rhythms and instrumental textures. The program also features David’s newly composed concerto, which explores the interaction between individual instrumental voices and the larger wind ensemble. Together, the two compositions examine collaboration, contrast, and the evolving roles of soloists within contemporary ensemble music.
