The Shark Is Broken

The Shark Is Broken follows the troubled production of Jaws as actors Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider wait through delays caused by bad weather and a malfunctioning mechanical shark.

Set aboard the film’s fishing boat, the comedy imagines the conversations, arguments and uneasy camaraderie among the three actors as they drink, gamble and question whether the production will ever be completed. They remain unaware that the film will become a major box-office success and an important part of cinema history.

The play was co-written by Ian Shaw, the son of Jaws actor Robert Shaw, and Joseph Nixon.

Runs through August 9th.
