Family Day on Aragon
March 21 @ 11:00 am – 4:00 pm

Family Day on Aragon returns to the Coral Gables Museum with a full day of free art and cultural programming for families. Admission to the museum galleries is free during the event, allowing visitors to explore recently opened exhibitions while participating in activities designed for children and adults.
From 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, TMP will lead artmaking activities. TMP is a teen-led volunteer and education initiative that engages youth in architecture, urban design, and visual arts while encouraging leadership and community involvement.
From 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Miami Royal Ballet & Dance will host a dance workshop and performance for children ages 6 to 12. The program is led by professional dancer and instructor Maia Duschatzky and includes a 35 to 40 minute movement workshop followed by a short performance by young dancers from Miami Royal Ballet & Dance. The session focuses on coordination, foundational technique, and expressive movement. RSVP is recommended.
From 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Game On: Discover Chess will introduce participants to the CGM Chess Club. The session provides an introduction to the basic rules of chess, introductory strategies, and guided gameplay in a supportive setting for beginners.
From 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, members of the Miami Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert as part of the MISO Chamber Series. The program includes selections such as Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, “La Vie en Rose,” “Thinking Out Loud,” “Viva la Vida,” “I Will Always Love You,” “Never Enough,” “Make You Feel My Love,” “A Thousand Years,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “How Deep Is Your Love,” “St. Elmo’s Theme,” “Billie Jean,” and “Yesterday.” RSVP is recommended.
Throughout the day, families can participate in a scavenger hunt connected to the exhibition on Florida artist Albert Ernest “Beanie” Backus. The activity encourages visitors to explore the galleries while learning about Backus’s landscapes, including scenes from Florida and Jamaica, and the influence his work had on Florida’s artistic identity.
