Sips of Summer – Morton’s Coral Gables

The Great American Road Trip is a multi-course dining experience that celebrates classic American food and iconic spirits through a coast-to-coast culinary journey. Taking place on Friday, July 17 at 6:30 pm, the evening features a menu inspired by some of the country’s most recognizable comfort foods, each paired with a cocktail that highlights traditional American whiskey, bourbon, and beer.

Guests will begin with passed hors d’oeuvres including Reuben Crostini topped with shaved pastrami, braised cabbage, and Swiss cheese, along with deviled eggs finished with candied bacon. The first course features a Lobster Roll served on brioche with French fries and paired with an American ’76, a variation of the French 75 made with Wheatley Vodka, lemon, and Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs.

The menu continues with a Wagyu Beef Hot Dog served on a soft roll with whole-grain mustard and pickles, paired with a Forty-Niner, a whiskey sour made with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, ginger, lemon, and honey. For the main course, guests will enjoy BBQ Baby Back Ribs with homemade coleslaw alongside a Tea Party Old Fashioned featuring Sazerac Rye, black tea, Averna, and demerara.

Dessert is served as a cocktail, the Cow Tipping, a spirited root beer float made with Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream, Licor 43, Freddy’s Root Beer, and Häagen-Dazs ice cream.

For an additional $10, guests may attend a limited-capacity VIP Pre-Party Tasting beginning at 6:00 pm, featuring a Great American Cheeseburger Slider paired with Miller High Life, often referred to as “The Champagne of Beer.”
