The Food Issue: November 2026

Think Globally, Eat Locally

One of our mantras at Coral Gables Magazine is that anything you want in the world can be found here in the City Beautiful. You love golf or tennis? Done. You want the best education in the country? Done. You want a symphony orchestra, a Broadway-caliber musical, a superlative bookstore? Done. And so on.

The same goes for our gustatory scene. We have more chef-driven restaurants per capita than any other city in the state, from Giorgio Rapicavoli at Eating House and Pablo Zitzman at Zitz Sum, to Pedro Mederos at Kojin 2.0 and Alberto Pastor at Pastor at Pascal. We also have an army of restaurants, propelled in part by the 50,000 people who come to work in the Gables at least five days a week.

With so much to choose from, why leave the city to eat anywhere else? And when it comes to international cuisine, we are a virtual smorgasbord. You can literally dine yourself around the globe. You want Asian? We have Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and Thai. You want Latin American? We have Argentinian, Peruvian, Ecuadoran, Cuban, Brazilian, Nicaraguan, and Mexican. You want Mediterranean? We have Lebanese, Israeli, Greek, French Riviera, and Southern Italian. You want European? We have French, Spanish, Northern Italian and German. And then there are the places for steaks, pizza, burgers, seafood, bagels, and sandwiches. If you visited a different restaurant every day, it would take you four months to eat your way through Coral Gables.

Here at Coral Gables Magazine, we try to keep tabs on all of this. Deciding what is the best, however, can be a dicey task. This year in our food issue we focus on the best brunch spots, and the places where you can hear music while you dine. We also tried to narrow down the best of the best, to the top 25 restaurants in the city. There will, no doubt, be some places we left off the list. If, in your opinion, that’s the case, please scold us with a note to editor@coralgablesmagazine.com. And in the meantime, if music be the food of love, then let food be the music of love. After all, what can be more romantic than a dinner date at some special place? And as for that four-month journey to eat your way across the city, you better get started soon.
