William Osorio: Common Ground
July 9 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

William Osorio’s Common Ground is on view at the University of Miami Art Gallery at The Chapel from July 8 to August 5. The exhibition includes works made over the past four years, including oil stick paintings, collage, and textile pieces that reflect on memory, family history, migration, and daily life.
Curated by Milly Cardoso, Common Ground focuses on everyday scenes and overlooked moments, using painted and reclaimed materials to create layered compositions about identity, displacement, and the experience of living between cultures.
Osorio was born in Holguín, Cuba, and lives and works in Miami. His work has been shown internationally, with exhibitions in Miami, Paris, Brussels, Chicago, and other cities. He is a recipient of the South Florida Cultural Consortium Award, The Ellies Creator Award from Oolite Arts, and the Miami Individual Artists Grant.
