Tour the Historic Doc Thomas House

The Tropical Audubon Society offers free, one-hour guided tours of its historic Doc Thomas House headquarters, with sessions from 1:00 to 2:00 pm and 3:00 to 4:00 pm. Led by a Tropical Audubon docent, the tours cover the history of the 1932 Florida vernacular cottage, its ongoing restoration and its connection to Arden Hayes “Doc” Thomas, a Tropical Audubon patron and area pioneer.
isitors will learn about architect Robert Fitch Smith, who designed the house using native woods and limestone. Each tour includes an indoor presentation and an outdoor walk highlighting the property’s architectural features.
Visitors can also explore the surrounding bird-friendly pollinator gardens and nature trails.
