Thomas Sleeper String Quintet

This recital is dedicated to the chamber works of Thomas Sleeper, a composer of the Cherokee Nation, educator, and conductor who taught at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music for 25 years. The program presents Sleeper’s music for cello and piano, alongside works written for string quartet, offering a focused look at his compositional voice and contributions to contemporary American chamber music.

The performance highlights Sleeper’s longstanding impact as both a creator and teacher, acknowledging his role in shaping generations of musicians at the Frost School.
