The Telenovela Archives: Opening Reception

Opens October 30 in the Roberto C. Goizueta Pavilion at the Otto G. Richter Library. Drawing on photographs, books, advertising materials, periodicals, film, and video, the exhibition looks back at the rise of serialized drama in Cuba and its influence throughout Latin America.

Curated from the holdings of the Cuban Heritage Collection and the Telenovela Archives, the project honors Cuban creators while documenting how the genre shaped popular culture for generations. The presentation is a collaboration with the Canada Council for the Arts, the London Arts Council, the University of Western Ontario’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Triana Media, and Cinemateca Brasileira.
