Private Tour of Coral Gables’ Historic Chinese Village
May 3 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

The Historic Preservation Association of Coral Gables presents its annual Champagne Soirée inside the Chinese Village, marking 100 years since the enclave’s construction and 35 years of the organization. Designed in 1926 by Henry Killam Murphy and commissioned by George Merrick, the Chinese Village is a walled compound of eight residences influenced by classical Chinese architecture.
The event takes place within a private home in the Village and includes a guided tour and lecture led by Boyuan Zhang, whose research on Murphy’s work documents the origins and design of the site. Attendance is limited to 20 guests.
An optional VIP experience is available prior to the main program, offering a guided tour of a private collection of contemporary American drawings. The main event runs from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
