Painting Fairchild’s Wildlife in Watercolor with Donna Underwood

Artist Donna Underwood leads a watercolor course focused on painting wildlife found throughout the Garden. The class covers transitions between subject and background, loose brushwork, realistic detail, and the use of light, shadow, and form to create a unified composition. Participants may bring personal reference photos or work from the Garden’s collection of local wildlife imagery.

Suggested and required supplies include 140-pound watercolor paper, watercolor paints with warm and cool shades of red, blue, yellow, and green, a palette, watercolor brushes, a water container, paper towels, a pencil, eraser, and reference material.
