Man of La Mancha

Man of La Mancha returns to the Miracle Theatre as part of Actors’ Playhouse’s 30th anniversary season. The musical originally opened the company’s Kendall theater and later its Miracle Theatre stage, making this revival an important part of the company’s history.

Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ “Don Quixote” and set during the Spanish Inquisition, the story follows Cervantes in prison as he awaits trial. He and his fellow inmates perform a play within a play that tells the story of Alonso Quijana, an aging man who renames himself Don Quixote and begins a personal quest to right the world’s wrongs.

The score features several well-known songs, including “The Impossible Dream,” “I, Don Quixote,” “Dulcinea,” and “Little Bird.”
