SHINGO Hosts Special Art Basel Dinner

SHINGO marks Miami Art Week with an exclusive tea ceremony led by Hosai Matsubayashi, the 16th-generation master of the historic Asahiyaki kiln of Uji, Kyoto. Known for his hand-thrown ceramics and his continuation of a 400-year family tradition, Matsubayashi will guide guests through a traditional Japanese tea ceremony that reflects his approach to craft, form, and wabi-sabi aesthetics.
The evening also includes a multi-course omakase experience by Chef Shingo Akikuni. Guests will receive a handcrafted Asahiyaki sake cup to take home, and a curated selection of Asahiyaki ceramics will be available for viewing and purchase in SHINGO’s gallery space. Dinner reservations are required.
