Frost Chopin Academy & Festival: Ted Rosenthal Trio – “Classics Reimagined: Impromp2”

June 21 @ 4:00 pm

The Frost Chopin Academy & Festival concludes with a performance by the Ted Rosenthal Trio. Pianist and composer Ted Rosenthal will present selections from his album “Classics Reimagined: Impromp2,” which reinterprets themes by composers including Frédéric Chopin, Johannes Brahms, and Antonín Dvořák through the format of a jazz trio.

The program will also feature music from Rosenthal’s album “High Standards” as well as original compositions from “The Ted Rosenthal Songbook.” Known for blending elements of classical music and jazz, Rosenthal’s work explores how familiar melodies and themes can be adapted through improvisation and contemporary arrangements.

The concert will open with performances by selected participants of the Academy, who will perform works by Chopin.

Serving as the closing event of the festival, the performance brings together classical repertoire and jazz interpretation through a program of arrangements and original compositions.
