Family Day goes Morocco
May 16 @ 11:00 am – 3:30 pm

Morocco, a name that evokes spices, vibrant color, and the air of ancient storytelling, comes to Coral Gables this Family Day. The Coral Gables Museum, the Consulate General of Morocco, and the Moroccan American Council Association of South Florida (MACA-SF) are opening their doors to children and families for an afternoon of Moroccan storytelling and hands-on artmaking led by four celebrated artists from Morocco.
The day kicks off at 11 am with a storytelling session for all ages led by Aya Aboulialim, featuring beloved Moroccan tales including The Miller and His Son and The Intelligent Tailor. From 12:30 to 3:30 pm, two art workshop sessions invite children ages 5 to 14 to create Moroccan-inspired designs guided by artist Zoubida Ennaji, exploring the artistry behind kaftans and traditional accessories. Three additional artists lead sessions in Soufflage and other Moroccan techniques using straws, special inks, and paper brought directly from Morocco.
