Blade Runner: The Final Cut

Selected by Steven Krams as part of the Movies We Love! series, “Blade Runner” returns to the big screen at Coral Gables Art Cinema. Directed by Ridley Scott, the influential 1982 science fiction film follows former police officer Rick Deckard, played by Harrison Ford, as he tracks a group of escaped replicants—human-like androids created by the Tyrell Corporation—in a dystopian future shaped by corporate power, environmental decay, and advanced technology.

Blending elements of film noir and science fiction, Blade Runner explores themes of identity, mortality, memory, and humanity through the story of replicant leader Roy Batty, portrayed by Rutger Hauer. The screening is part of Movies We Love!, a series curated by Steven Krams and Mitchell Kaplan that celebrates classic and influential films by bringing them back to the theater for new and returning audiences.
