Biltmore Turns 100

Built in under a year, the Biltmore Hotel opened in January 1926 and has since undergone a remarkable series of transformations. After facing near bankruptcy and the threat of demolition, the landmark was ultimately restored and remains one of Coral Gables’ most significant architectural and cultural sites.

Bike Walk Coral Gables hosts a historic themed ride to the Biltmore that explores the property’s past and preservation. The event concludes with a guided tour led by Chris Rupp, Executive Director of the Dade Heritage Trust, who will provide historical context and insight into the hotel’s design, legacy, and restoration.
