America Touched, America Seen: A World Sight Day Celebration
October 8 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired marks World Sight Day at the Coral Gables Museum with an evening of tactile art, live music, and conversation centered on artists who are blind or visually impaired.
The event features “America Touched, America Seen,” an exhibition of tactile and mixed-media works exploring America through texture, color, and personal perspective. Live music will include performances by Latin Grammy-nominated violinist and Miami Lighthouse Music Director Oman Pedreira, guitarist and composer Leo Quintero, and saxophonist Jeff Zavac.
The Miami Lighthouse United Voices Choir will also perform, accompanied by Choir Director Victor Castillo on keyboard. The program will include patriotic selections and two original songs honoring America’s 250th anniversary and themes of resilience, independence, and possibility.
Except for instructors Oman Pedreira and Victor Castillo, all participating artists, musicians, and singers are blind or visually impaired.
The evening begins at 5 pm with the exhibition reception and live music, followed by welcome remarks at 5:20 pm, supporter recognition at 5:35 pm, and the United Voices Choir performance at 5:45 p.m. Art, music, refreshments, and conversation will continue after the performance. The event concludes at 7 pm.
