AfroCuban Guitar and Beyond

Guitarist and composer Alberto Puerto brings his concert program AfroCuban Guitar and Beyond to Cernuda Arte in Coral Gables on Saturday, May 30. The evening opens with a meet and greet from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, followed by the performance from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.
The program features a selection of Puerto’s new works for solo guitar alongside classic AfroCuban themes, rooted in Cuban musical language and shaped by his distinctive classical voice. The music traces the guitar’s movement between tradition, memory, and invention, offering an evening of rhythm, color, and lyrical storytelling through a single instrument.
The concert takes place at Cernuda Arte, the Coral Gables gallery known for its intimate and carefully considered atmosphere, where the setting and the music are well matched.
