Filmmaker John Wilson, known for his HBO documentary series “How To with John Wilson,” explores New York City and its relationship with concrete in his feature-length documentary, “The History of Concrete.”
After attending a workshop on writing and selling Hallmark movies, Wilson attempts to apply the same storytelling formula to a documentary about the world’s most widely used building material. As the project develops, he encounters challenges that lead him to examine the relationship between artistic freedom and the commercial demands of the modern film industry.
