Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza has opened on Alhambra Circle, bringing its thin-crust, star-shaped pizzas to Coral Gables. The restaurant is already well known across South Florida, but the new location gives Gables diners a closer place to try the pies that built its following.

Chef Renato Viola founded Mister O1 after moving to Miami on an O-1 visa, which is reserved for people with extraordinary ability. He grew up in Southern Italy and began training with pizza makers at a young age. The first restaurant opened as a small, tucked-away spot in Miami Beach; today, the concept has locations
across Florida and several other states.

We tried the Claudio and the Elisa, both served in the restaurant’s signature star shape, with cheese tucked inside each point. The Claudio combines tomato sauce, fresh burrata stracciatella, white truffle oil, and basil. It is creamy and rich, but the tomato sauce keeps it from feeling too heavy. The Elisa skips the tomato sauce in favor of mozzarella, ricotta, honey, black pepper, and white truffle oil. The honey adds just enough sweetness, while the pepper gives the pizza some balance.
The dough is thin, crisp, and light enough that sharing two pizzas does not feel unreasonable. Beyond the star-shaped options, the menu includes traditional pies, salads, burrata, calzones, and dessert pizzas. The new space is casual and lively, making it an easy choice for lunch, dinner, or a pizza night that feels a little more interesting than usual.
