Opening Concert – Frost Chopin Academy & Festival: Kate Liu – “Between Dance and Dream”

The 2026 Frost Chopin Academy & Festival opens with a recital by pianist Kate Liu, winner of the Bronze Medal and Audience Prize at the 17th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. The program includes Chopin’s “Mazurkas, Op. 50” and “Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat Minor, Op. 35,” along with Schumann’s “Arabeske, Op. 18” and Brahms’ “Piano Sonata No. 1 in C Major, Op. 1.” The concert marks the opening of the weeklong festival dedicated to the music and legacy of Chopin.
