Frost Research Showcase
March 16 @ 5:00 pm

The University of Miami Frost School of Music will host the 3rd Annual Frost Research Showcase, highlighting current music research led by faculty and students. Directed by Associate Dean Carlos Abril, the event presents research and creative projects across multiple areas of music scholarship and practice.
The program opens with three short presentations by Frost faculty members. Serona Elton from the Music Industry program will discuss global royalty systems and gaps in how artists are compensated. Carlos Rafael Rivera from Media Scoring and Production will examine storytelling approaches used when composing music for film and visual media. Musicologist Mark Lomanno will present perspectives on performance, teaching, and research within both local and global musical contexts.
Following the talks, the program continues with a research poster session where attendees can meet faculty and students, learn about current projects, and discuss their work. Refreshments will be available during the session.
