Così fan tutte by W.A. Mozart | Frost Opera Theater & Frost Symphony Orchestra

With a libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte and music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “Così fan tutte” is presented in a staging set aboard a cruise ship. This production places the opera’s original narrative within a nautical setting while preserving Mozart’s full score.

The creative team includes Jeffrey Buchman as stage director and program director, Yun Xuan Cao as conductor, Jenny Snyder as music director, and Rosa Mercedes as choreographer.

The opera centers on two officers who agree to test the fidelity of their fiancées through disguise. What follows is a structured sequence of role playing, reversals, and shifting alliances that drive the dramatic and musical arc of the work. Mozart’s score remains central to the production, with ensemble numbers and arias shaping the progression of the story.
