The opening concert features the Leah Rutherford Quartet, led by jazz vocalist Leah Rutherford (@leahrutherfordmusic). The ensemble presents interpretations of jazz standards alongside modern selections. Rutherford, originally from Greenville, South Carolina, is currently studying Jazz Vocal Performance at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and has received multiple DownBeat Awards, along with recognition as a YoungArts Winner with Distinction.
She is joined by William Armstrong on keys (@williamarmstrongmusic), Ben Mini on bass (@ben_mini_music), and Jeremy Baun on drums (@jeremy_baun). Together, the quartet brings a cohesive approach to contemporary jazz performance.
