Darcy James Argue with Frost Studio Jazz Band & Horace Silver Ensemble

The Frost Studio Jazz Band presents a performance featuring acclaimed composer, arranger, and conductor Darcy James Argue under the direction of Etienne Charles and Jacob Batchelder. Argue, a 2015 Guggenheim Fellow and current composer-in-residence with Germany’s HR Big Band, is best known as the founder of Secret Society, the 18-piece ensemble recognized by The New York Times as “renowned in the jazz world.” His work fuses jazz tradition with modern sonics and has earned multiple GRAMMY nominations, a Latin GRAMMY, and a Doris Duke Artist Award. Stereophile has called him “one of the top big-band composers of our time.” This performance offers an opportunity to experience contemporary big-band jazz from one of the genre’s leading composers.
