Gulf Stream x Honest Liars Fundraiser & Open Mic Night

Books & Books and the Books & Books Literary Foundation host a one-night-only fundraiser in partnership with FIU’s MFA open mic series “Honest Liars and Gulf Stream Magazine,” the university’s long-running literary journal.

After 17 years online, “Gulf Stream” is back in print with its 35th anniversary issue, First Words. Sales from the issue—and back issues from the archive—will go toward funding Issue 37 and keeping the journal in print.

The night features an open mic for MFA students, alumni, and audience members. Whether you’re reading or listening, the goal is the same: to support the writers shaping South Florida’s literary scene—and those still finding their voice.
