An Evening with Daria Lavelle and Raquel V. Reyes

Daria Lavelle joins Books & Books in Coral Gables to discuss her debut novel “Aftertaste”, in conversation with author Raquel V. Reyes. The event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase on-site.

Blending dark humor with elements of grief and gastronomy, “Aftertaste” follows Konstantin Duhovny, a man who experiences the flavors of meals connected to the dead—“a ghost story to devour,” according to Lavelle’s publisher. The novel unfolds in New York’s competitive culinary world and touches on how memory, loss, and food intersect.

Lavelle, born in Kyiv and raised in the New York metro area, writes fiction that moves between the uncanny and the deeply personal. Reyes, known for her “Caribbean Kitchen Mystery” series, will moderate.
