We all know that a physical plant has nothing to do with educational outcomes. Better to de-emphasize the “diversity”, impose discipline, kick out the disruptive, and make sure those who want to excel can do so.

On the other hand this is Coral Gables, right?

I’m a ’64 graduate, co-captain of the cheerleaders for the state champion football team and a proud alum of our nationally recognized high school. However, we went through school with NO air conditioning and NO Title 9 support for female athletes and no support for women taking physics (a personal note-and I went on to major in college in the essence of physics, dance, and continue to this day as a dancer, dance educator, and enthusiast. That Gables counselor REALLY got it wrong……..however, it was the early 60s and there was a lot of ignorance….) I’ve been back for reunions, cheered in the auditorium and had fun reconnecting with ’64 alums. Gables has a great history that has “morphed” over the years to a better version of itself. I applaud these renovations (ahhhh…..AC) but have you been able to replicate the amazing teaching/directing of Margaret Smith and her modern dance classes??? It changed my life and I continue in her direction!!!!
