SUMMARY:Preview of Man of La Mancha
DESCRIPTION:The musical that opened Actors’ Playhouse in its Kendall location and again at the Miracle Theatre returns to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary at the Miracle Theatre! One of the world’s most beloved musicals\, Man of La Mancha is inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ 17th-century masterpiece Don Quixote and set during the Spanish Inquisition. The original 1965 production won five Tony Awards\, including Best Musical. As Cervantes awaits trial in prison\, he and his fellow inmates perform a play-within-a-play\, telling the story of Alonso Quijana\, an elderly man who renames himself Don Quixote and embarks on a quest to right all wrongs. The rousing\, Spanish-inflected score includes classic numbers like “The Impossible Dream\,” “I\, Don Quixote\,” “Dulcinea” and “Little Bird.”

SUMMARY:Intervals
DESCRIPTION:Image sourced from Coral Gables \n\n\n\nThe City of Coral Gables announces “Intervals\,” a new series in the city’s Art in Public Places program that invites residents and visitors to experience time-space encounters with contemporary art across the city. \n\n\n\nIntervals is conceived as a series of artistic interventions where contemporary works engage with specific sites and with the thoughts and rhythms that shape them\, to reveal perspectives beyond the everyday of Coral Gables\, Miami and the world. Within Intervals\, artists respond to the richness and constraints of uncharacteristic spaces\, transforming them into moments of encounter\, reflection and discovery. Five artists will present five site-responsive installations across Coral Gables. Each installation is open and publicly accessible\, created in partnership with hotels\, other public spaces\, and galleries represented at Art Basel Miami Beach. \n\n\n\nParticipating Artists and Works\n\n\n\nTroy Simmons\, Spore (Durchbruch Hybrid Series) – H. SUMMARY:The Consul | Music & Libretto by Gian Carlo Menotti | Frost Opera Theater
DESCRIPTION:The Consul\, Gian Carlo Menotti’s Pulitzer Prize-winning opera\, comes to life in this emotionally powerful production directed by stage director and program director Jeffrey Buchman. Under the musical leadership of conductor Diego Hernandez and music director Jenny Snyder\, with choreography by Rosa Mercedes\, this performance brings fresh urgency to a work that remains as relevant today as it was at its 1950 premiere. Originally enjoying a remarkable Broadway run of 269 performances\, The Consul is what Menotti himself called a “musical drama\,” a gripping exploration of bureaucratic indifference\, personal sacrifice\, and the desperate human search for freedom. Audiences will witness characters fighting to maintain their humanity while trapped in a system that reduces them to nothing more than paperwork\, caught in the unrelenting grind of red tape and institutional apathy. This production serves as a powerful reminder of the human cost of such struggles\, promising to deeply move viewers with its timeless themes and emotional depth.
