By the end of the session\, participants will have the foundational skills needed to continue making wire jewelry at home. \n\n\n\nAmanda Nicol is a jewelry designer and the founder of Jewelry One of a KIND\, a mission-based brand centered on craftsmanship and social impact. Her work supports women in Miami-Dade through fair-wage employment and skill-building opportunities in partnership with organizations such as Lotus House and LEAP for Ladies. With more than 20 years of experience\, her designs have appeared in publications including The New York Times\, Harper’s Bazaar\, and WWD\, and have been featured in the MoMA Design Store\, Sundance Catalog\, and select boutiques in the United States and abroad. \n\n\n\nJewelry One of a KIND operates as a survivor-led initiative that uses jewelry-making as a pathway for economic empowerment and creative expression. \n\n\n\nThe Things Lab is supported in part by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs\, the Cultural Affairs Council\, the Miami-Dade County Mayor\, and the Board of County Commissioners.

SUMMARY:Creating Collage with Carol Jazzar
DESCRIPTION:Carol Jazzar is an interdisciplinary artist based in El Portal. She began working in collage in 2012 as part of her own creative and personal exploration. Her practice informed her 2023 book All (W-hole) of Me\, healing through Art\, which features her collage work\, a conversation with Lacanian psychoanalyst Karina Tenenbaum\, and essays by curator Tami Katz-Freiman and historian M. Keely Sutton. The book examines creativity and the ways in which artistic processes shape self-understanding. \n\n\n\nCreativity takes an unexpected turn in this collage-making workshop at The Things Lab. Participants will work with a method developed by artist and instructor Carol Jazzar\, which is designed to let the final artwork emerge in surprising ways. No previous art experience is needed. Materials are provided\, and translation is available in Spanish and French.

He and his fellow inmates perform a play within a play that tells the story of Alonso Quijana\, an aging man who renames himself Don Quixote and begins a personal quest to right the world’s wrongs. \n\n\n\nThe score features several well-known songs\, including “The Impossible Dream\,” “I\, Don Quixote\,” “Dulcinea\,” and “Little Bird.”
