Guerra\, the author of five books\, will draw on her recent scholarship and oral history interviews to examine the evolution of Cuban studies\, the intellectual and political debates shaping the field\, and the challenges facing Cuba and Cuban communities worldwide. \n\n\n\nThroughout the conference\, participants will present research and discuss different methodologies and perspectives on Cuba and its global communities. \n\n\n\nThe event is co-presented by the Cuban Heritage Collection and the University of Miami’s Program in Cuban Studies\, with funding from The Goizueta Foundation. Additional support is provided by the university’s Wilbur L. and Jean L. The vintage market features a curated group of vendors selling housewares\, furniture\, clothing\, accessories and collectibles. \n\n\n\nThe market takes place throughout the former home and gardens of Coral Gables founder George Merrick. Completed in 1910\, the house was constructed from local limestone known as coral rock. Its interior has been preserved to reflect how the property appeared in 1925. \n\n\n\nFounded in March 2025\, Coral Market brings vintage vendors\, collectors and shoppers together inside one of the city’s historic properties. Visitors can shop throughout the house and gardens while viewing the Merrick family home and its preserved interior.
