Disillusioned by his newfound wealth\, he decides to give the money away\, leading his lawyer to attempt to have him declared insane. \n\n\n\nCapra won the Academy Award for Best Director for the film\, which was also nominated for Best Picture. Cooper received a nomination for Best Actor\, while screenwriter Robert Riskin was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay. \n\n\n\nThe film runs 115 minutes and is intended for ages 19 and older. She is also co-owner of The Grove Title & Trust\, PLLC in Coconut Grove with her husband\, Javier. \n\n\n\nHer community involvement includes serving as a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters\, volunteering in her children’s schools\, mentoring young women at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy\, and mentoring University of Florida students through the UF Hispanic Alumni Association. \n\n\n\nBlanco-Banos will be interviewed by Tara Auclair\, director of development for SSJ Health Foundation. Their conversation will address women in leadership\, mentorship\, community service\, professional life\, and supporting the next generation of women leaders. \n\n\n\nThe event begins at 6 pm at 2714 Ponce de Leon Blvd.\, Coral Gables. SUMMARY:Voices of a Changing Cuba
DESCRIPTION:The University of Miami’s Cuban Heritage Collection will bring together Cuban performance artist and activist Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara and academic and activist Anamely Ramos for a Spanish-language conversation moderated by journalist Jorge Ramos. The panel will examine artistic freedom\, political dissent\, exile and freedom of expression in Cuba\, drawing on the participants’ experiences in the country’s independent artistic and civic movements. \n\n\n\nOtero Alcántara is a co-founder of Movimiento San Isidro\, an independent artistic movement established in opposition to Cuba’s Decree 349\, a 2018 measure restricting artistic activity. His work includes public performances challenging government restrictions on artistic expression\, including Drapeau\, in which he wore the Cuban flag in protest of flag legislation. \n\n\n\nRamos\, a former professor at Havana’s Instituto Superior de Arte\, where she taught Cuban and African art for 12 years\, was dismissed following her public opposition to government censorship. She holds degrees in Art History and Cuban Cultural Processes. \n\n\n\nThe discussion will be moderated by Jorge Ramos\, the former Univision News anchor\, author and Emmy Award-winning journalist whose career spans nearly four decades. Ramos currently hosts the podcasts “The Moment” with his daughter Paola and “Así Veo Las Cosas.” \n\n\n\nSponsored by the Amigos of the Cuban Heritage Collection\, the program will explore the intersection of art\, activism and freedom of expression in Cuba.

The program will include patriotic selections and two original songs honoring America’s 250th anniversary and themes of resilience\, independence\, and possibility. \n\n\n\nExcept for instructors Oman Pedreira and Victor Castillo\, all participating artists\, musicians\, and singers are blind or visually impaired. \n\n\n\nThe evening begins at 5 pm with the exhibition reception and live music\, followed by welcome remarks at 5:20 pm\, supporter recognition at 5:35 pm\, and the United Voices Choir performance at 5:45 p.m. Art\, music\, refreshments\, and conversation will continue after the performance. The event concludes at 7 pm.
