SUMMARY:Estaciones del Alma
DESCRIPTION:Seasons of the Soul proposes an emotional journey where three worlds enter into dialogue. Three composers\, three eras\, one shared heartbeat: music as a reflection of our own inner seasons. A concert that is not only heard\, but felt. \n\n\n\nRomanticism\, through Schumann\, opens the door to intimate\, passionate\, and deeply human music. Gershwin\, with his Rhapsody in Blue\, transforms that same format into an urban pulse—brilliant and free—where jazz and the energy of the city merge with classical tradition. And finally\, Piazzolla immerses us in The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires\, an intense narrative of time\, desire\, and the nostalgia of Buenos Aires. \n\n\n\nA Chamber Music Concert

SUMMARY:The Black Power Mixtape 1967 to 1975 Screening and Panel Discussion
DESCRIPTION:This screening of “The Black Power Mixtape 1967 to 1975” will be followed by a panel discussion hosted by filmmaker Dudley Alexis and featuring journalist and community historian Nadege Green. \n\n\n\nThe documentary draws from 16mm footage filmed by Swedish journalists who traveled to the United States during a period of urban unrest and political transformation. Seeking to document the rise of the Black Power Movement\, the filmmakers gained direct access to key figures including Stokely Carmichael\, Bobby Seale\, Angela Davis\, and Eldridge Cleaver. The footage captures interviews and moments that provide historical context to the movement’s leadership\, organizing efforts\, and public messaging. \n\n\n\nThe material remained archived in the basement of Swedish Television for decades before being rediscovered. Director Göran Olsson\, alongside co producer Danny Glover\, assembled the recovered footage into a feature documentary combining archival film\, music\, and narration to trace the development of the Black Power Movement from 1967 through 1975. \n\n\n\nThe post film panel will expand on the historical significance of the documentary and its continued relevance.

SUMMARY:Twelfth Night
DESCRIPTION:Named for the twelfth night after Christmas\, William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night centers on questions of love\, identity\, and social power. The story follows Viola and Sebastian\, twins separated by a shipwreck\, each believing the other has died. Stranded in Illyria\, Viola disguises herself as a male page and enters the service of Duke Orsino. \n\n\n\nOrsino is in love with Countess Olivia\, who manages her own household and is mourning her brother. He sends Viola\, in disguise\, to deliver messages of devotion on his behalf. Olivia instead becomes attracted to the messenger\, unaware of Viola’s true identity. The situation is further complicated by Malvolio\, Olivia’s steward\, and Sir Andrew Aguecheek\, another suitor competing for her attention. \n\n\n\nAs mistaken identities and misplaced affections build\, the play examines loyalty\, ambition\, and the fluid nature of attraction. Through intersecting storylines and comic reversals\, Shakespeare constructs a layered narrative that resolves once the twins are reunited. \n\n\n\n Student Night will be on March 3rd at 8PM.  FREE Admission with your Cane ID!
