SUMMARY:Mindfulness for Inner Resilience Fall 2026
DESCRIPTION:University of Miami Libraries offers a series of 45-minute online mindfulness sessions as part of its Mindfulness and Well-Being Programs. The introductory sessions focus on mindfulness meditation and movement\, with guided practice\, time for reflection and opportunities for participants to ask questions. \n\n\n\nTopics throughout the fall include mindfulness of breathing\, body\, thoughts and emotions\, loving-kindness\, self-compassion\, walking meditation\, equanimity\, creativity\, gratitude and joy. \n\n\n\nMost sessions are led by Kelly Miller\, a Certified Mindfulness Teacher\, Director of Mindfulness and Well-Being Programs and Associate Dean for Learning and Research Services at University of Miami Libraries. Professor Scott Rogers\, director of the University of Miami School of Law’s Mindfulness in Law Program\, will lead a special session on Oct. 7. Completed in 1910\, the house was constructed from local limestone known as coral rock. Its interior has been preserved to reflect how the property appeared in 1925. \n\n\n\nFounded in March 2025\, Coral Market brings vintage vendors\, collectors and shoppers together inside one of the city’s historic properties. Visitors can shop throughout the house and gardens while viewing the Merrick family home and its preserved interior.

His repertoire includes works by Romantic composers Frédéric Chopin\, Ignacy Jan Paderewski\, and Leopold Godowsky\, as well as compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach and George Gershwin. \n\n\n\nA Steinway & Sons Artist\, Pandolfi is also known for his piano transcriptions of music from “West Side Story” and “The Phantom of the Opera.” His performances have been featured on PBS\, WETA\, WQXR\, and other national and international broadcast outlets.

DESCRIPTION:Grammy-nominated organist Jan Kraybill performs as part of the Lamar Louise Curry Concert Series. An internationally recognized musician\, Kraybill has performed throughout North America\, Europe\, Australia\, Russia\, South Korea\, and Tahiti. \n\n\n\nShe currently serves as Organ Conservator at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and Organist-in-Residence at the Community of Christ headquarters in the Kansas City area. Her solo album\, “The Orchestral Organ\,” received three Grammy nominations in 2020\, including Best Classical Instrumental Solo. \n\n\n\nKraybill holds degrees in music education\, piano\, and organ performance. She earned the American Guild of Organists’ Fellow certification in 2010 and was named a Fellow of the Hymn Society in 2024. She has also appeared as a featured performer and speaker at national music conventions and on American Public Media’s “Pipedreams.”

SUMMARY:Passports to Petals: A National Garden Club Standard Flower Show and Fundraise
DESCRIPTION:The Coral Gables Garden Club will present “Passports to Petals\,” a two-day flower show and fundraiser at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden on April 14 and 15\, 2027. The program combines floral design\, horticulture\, food\, and educational exhibits inspired by seven gardens around the world. \n\n\n\nThe event begins Wednesday\, April 14\, at 6 pm with “A Flora and Culinary Journey Around the World\,” a cocktail party held among the floral arrangements entered in the flower show. The evening will include music\, cocktails\, cuisine representing the countries featured in the floral designs\, and a silent auction. Tickets are $125 per person. \n\n\n\nThe National Garden Club Standard Flower Show follows Thursday\, April 15\, from 10 am to 3 pm. Visitors can view 24 floral arrangements\, horticultural displays\, and three educational exhibits. An awards presentation will take place at 2:30 pm. Admission to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden for the flower show is free with advance registration through the Coral Gables Garden Club website. \n\n\n\nThe flower show draws inspiration from Butchart Gardens in Canada\, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in the United States\, Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands\, Kirstenbosch National Botanic Garden in South Africa\, Monet’s Garden in France\, the Royal Botanic Gardens\, Kew in England\, and Singapore Botanic Gardens. \n\n\n\nProceeds will support Coral Gables Garden Club projects\, including a planned micro-forest in collaboration with the City of Coral Gables\, the Butterfly Garden at the Coral Gables Library\, habitat restoration at Camp Mahachee\, and programs focused on gardening\, horticulture\, environmental education\, community beautification\, and floral design.
