SUMMARY:An Evening with Isabel Klee
DESCRIPTION:Image courtesy of  Books & Books\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooks & Books welcomes Isabel Klee for an evening celebrating the release of her memoir\, Dogs\, Boys\, and Other Things I’ve Cried About. \n\n\n\nKlee grew up in New Jersey dreaming of New York City. At twenty\, she made the move\, landing in a basement apartment in Manhattan and eventually finding her footing as an assistant to a dog photographer. That first job sparked a deeper calling: rehabilitating rescue dogs and helping them find homes. Her first true love was Simon\, a fluffy puppy rescued from the meat trade\, who became her anchor through the highs and lows of her twenties. Woven through the story of Simon and a rotating cast of foster dogs are chapters about friendship\, fickle boyfriends\, grand romances\, and the ongoing search for belonging in a big city. \n\n\n\nHonest\, tender\, and at times devastating\, the memoir follows Klee from her scrappy early years in New York to a life built around the dogs and people she loves most. \n\n\n\nA portion of proceeds will be donated to Miami-Dade Animal Services. \n\n\n\nAbout the author: Isabel Klee is a writer and content creator based in Brooklyn. She documents her work rehabilitating rescue dogs on social media and lives with her fiance Jacob\, her dog Simon\, and a rotating cast of foster dogs.

With over 130\,000 followers\, her work has long explored the ephemerality of human experience and the language of the invisible. \n\n\n\nThe event is free and open to the public. SUMMARY:An Evening with Ben Rhodes in conversation with L. Felice Gorordo
DESCRIPTION:Image Sourced from Books&Books\n\n\n\nAuthor Ben Rhodes visits to celebrate the release of his new book\, “All We Say\,” in conversation with moderator L. Felice Gorordo. Tickets are required; each ticket admits two guests and includes one copy of “All We Say” ($35 plus tax)\, distributed upon entry. Additional copies will be available for purchase at the event. \n\n\n\nIn “All We Say\,” Rhodes traces 250 years of American identity through fifteen speeches\, some legendary\, others nearly forgotten\, that have shaped the country’s ongoing argument with itself. From Benjamin Franklin’s appeal for compromise at the Constitutional Convention to Donald Trump’s rhetoric against democratic norms\, Rhodes examines how oratory has both reflected and redirected the nation. Drawing on his decade writing for President Barack Obama\, he explores what makes a speech endure and why the spoken word holds a singular power in American democracy. The result is a portrait of a nation caught between two competing stories: one rooted in inheritance and exclusion\, the other in equality and belonging. \n\n\n\nRhodes is the author of the New York Times bestsellers After the Fall and The World as It Is\, co-host of Pod Save the World\, and a former deputy national security advisor to President Obama. The evening will be moderated by Felice Gorordo\, CEO of Embark and former U.S. Executive Director at the World Bank.

SUMMARY:An Afternoon with Crissa-Jean Chappell
DESCRIPTION:Author Crissa-Jean Chappell visits to celebrate the release of her new novel\, “Never Leave Me alone\,” in a free public event open to all ages. Books will be available for purchase the night of the event. An RSVP secures general entry but does not guarantee seating\, so early arrival is encouraged. \n\n\n\nIn “Never Leave Me Alone\,” seventeen-year-old Birdie lives for the rush: rooftopping abandoned hotels\, chasing the perfect shot for her Instagram alter ego\, Bad Altitude. Her dying Florida beach town may be crumbling\, but her follower count is climbing\, and she’s one viral post away from escaping the Space Coast for good. Then she meets Micah\, a daredevil TikTok star with a taste for high-stakes stunts\, and everything shifts. When Micah falls to his death\, Birdie is left with more questions than answers. Retracing his final stunts and getting dangerously close to his brother Jayce\, she realizes someone is watching her\, both online and off. In this game\, there is only one rule: if you quit\, you die. \n\n\n\nCrissa-Jean Chappell was born in Miami and now lives in Brooklyn. She holds a PhD and MFA from the University of Miami and is a professor of creative writing at Lehman College. Her previous novels include “Total Constant Order\,” “Snowbirds\,” and “Sun Don’t Shine.”
