SUMMARY:EUREKA DAY
DESCRIPTION:Photo courtesy of GableStage.\n\n\n\nA Berkeley private school seems like the last place you’d expect a crisis. Scones at board meetings\, Rumi quotes from the headmaster\, decisions made only when everyone agrees –– it’s a community that has thought very hard about how to do things right. Then the mumps shows up. \n\n\n\nGableStage presents the regional premiere of “Eureka Day\,” Jonathan Spector’s Broadway comedy about what happens when four self-consciously progressive parents are forced to take a stance on the school’s liberal vaccine policy –– and suddenly consensus isn’t so easy. The Daily Beast called it “a comic powder keg\,” and it’s easy to see why. \n\n\n\n“Eureka Day” runs May 15 through June 14\, 2026\, at GableStage

SUMMARY:"The Reach of Light": Pride art exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Reach of Light – Press ReleaseDownload\n\n\n\n“The Reach of Light\,” a Pride art exhibition presented by Gay in the Gables\, opens at the Historic Coral Gables United Church of Christ this June. The group show features works by six Florida-based LGBTQIA+ artists — Josh Aronson\, Celeste Burns\, Ricky Cohete\, Juicy Love Dion\, David Gary Lloyd\, and Michael Zimmerer — installed within the church’s sanctuary at 3010 Desoto Blvd\, directly across from the Biltmore Hotel. \n\n\n\nThe photography-inspired installation transforms the historic space into a gallery\, bringing photographic and visual practices into dialogue with a place of worship to explore how art in religious institutions can create visibility\, acceptance\, and belonging. Across the works on view\, light functions as both material and metaphor\, with references to halos\, iconography\, and devotional imagery seen through a contemporary queer lens. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition runs June 4–7\, 2026\, with an opening reception on Friday\, June 5 from 6–9 pm. Admission is free and open to the public.

SUMMARY:Go-Native Plant sale
DESCRIPTION:4:02 PM \n\n\n\nClaude responded: June is prime time to expand your native plantings\, and this year rainy season arrives right on cue.\n\n\n\nJune is prime time to expand your native plantings\, and this year rainy season arrives right on cue. Tropical Audubon Society’s Go-Native Plant Sale\, presented by Galloway Farm Nursery\, is set for Saturday\, June 6 on the organization’s 2.2-acre wooded grounds in Miami. Master Gardeners will be there to help match plants to your specific landscape and answer cultivation questions. \n\n\n\nThe focus is on native species that do double duty — low maintenance for the gardener\, high value for local wildlife. Birds\, bees\, butterflies\, ladybugs and bats all benefit\, and even a small patio or balcony can be transformed into a functioning pollinator habitat. Visitors are also welcome to walk the nature trails winding through the society’s Pine Rocklands and Tropical Hardwood Hammock. \n\n\n\nBeyond the plant sale\, the day includes a pollinator and plant identification session\, a self-guided bird walk and a picnic area under the society’s chickee. Handcrafted tropical fruit jams\, wild honey from the on-site bee colony\, bird note cards and Feather Friendly window decals will also be available.

SUMMARY:Mainly Mozart Festival 2026: THREE VISIONS OF THE SONATA
DESCRIPTION:Winner of the 2025 Long-Thibaud International Piano Competition\, pianist Saehyun Kim has quickly drawn international attention for the refinement\, color\, and expressive depth of his playing. Praised by Diapason as “an exceptional artist” and by Le Figaro for his “stunning profusion of colors\,” Kim has appeared at major venues in the U.S.\, France\, Austria\, South Korea\, and Japan\, and is currently based in Boston\, where he studies in the Harvard/NEC dual degree program. \n\n\n\nIn this richly contrasted recital\, Kim brings together three masterworks that reveal the piano’s many voices. Schubert’s Sonata in G major\, D. 894 unfolds with spacious lyricism\, serenity\, and quiet nobility. After intermission\, Mozart’s Piano Sonata in B-flat major\, K. 281 offers wit\, elegance\, and youthful brilliance\, before Chopin’s Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor brings the evening to a powerful close — a work of turbulence\, poetry\, and haunting inevitability. \n\n\n\nProgram Schubert: Piano Sonata No. 18 in G Major\, D. 894 Mozart: Piano Sonata No. 3 in B-flat Major\, K. 281 Chopin: Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor\, Op. 35
