SUMMARY:Mindfulness for Inner Resilience Fall 2026
DESCRIPTION:University of Miami Libraries offers a series of 45-minute online mindfulness sessions as part of its Mindfulness and Well-Being Programs. The introductory sessions focus on mindfulness meditation and movement\, with guided practice\, time for reflection and opportunities for participants to ask questions. \n\n\n\nTopics throughout the fall include mindfulness of breathing\, body\, thoughts and emotions\, loving-kindness\, self-compassion\, walking meditation\, equanimity\, creativity\, gratitude and joy. \n\n\n\nMost sessions are led by Kelly Miller\, a Certified Mindfulness Teacher\, Director of Mindfulness and Well-Being Programs and Associate Dean for Learning and Research Services at University of Miami Libraries. Professor Scott Rogers\, director of the University of Miami School of Law’s Mindfulness in Law Program\, will lead a special session on Oct. 7. DESCRIPTION:Midnight Creative brings “Serial Killer Speakeasy” to the Coral Gables Woman’s Club for a 90-minute immersive true-crime theater experience centered on four notorious criminal cases. \n\n\n\nLive performances explore the stories of Ted Bundy\, Jeffrey Dahmer\, John Wayne Gacy\, and Ed Gein\, with each segment paired with a themed cocktail. The four-drink tasting menu includes the “Friendly Stranger\,” “Apartment Two One Three\,” “Killer Clowns\,” and “Gein’s Cauldron.” Mocktails are available upon request. \n\n\n\nThe experience is produced by Midnight Creative\, the company behind the touring Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy. Guests must be 21 or older with valid ID. The venue is ADA compliant. Dates and times vary by ticket selection.

Gonzalez will examine the history and development of the method\, the different stages involved\, and how songwriting can be used to share personal experiences\, political ideas\, cultural knowledge\, and community perspectives. \n\n\n\nThe presentation also looks at songwriting as a collaborative practice that can support consensus building and the production of knowledge within Chicano and Latino communities in East Los Angeles.

His career has included work as a keyboardist and musical director for Cuba Gooding Sr. & The Main Ingredient\, as well as performances as a vocalist and saxophonist with The Seth Burkhart Four. \n\n\n\nArmstrong has shared stages with artists including Lalah Hathaway\, Sting\, Stephanie Mills\, Kenny Lattimore\, Raheem DeVaughn\, Musiq Soulchild\, and Dr. John. In 2022\, he won first place at Amateur Night at the Apollo in Harlem. \n\n\n\nThe performance at Armstrong gives guests an opportunity to hear Armstrong live in an intimate venue setting\, drawing from the R&B\, jazz\, soul\, and funk influences that have shaped his career.
