SUMMARY:Mindfulness for Inner Resilience Fall 2026
DESCRIPTION:University of Miami Libraries offers a series of 45-minute online mindfulness sessions as part of its Mindfulness and Well-Being Programs. The introductory sessions focus on mindfulness meditation and movement\, with guided practice\, time for reflection and opportunities for participants to ask questions. \n\n\n\nTopics throughout the fall include mindfulness of breathing\, body\, thoughts and emotions\, loving-kindness\, self-compassion\, walking meditation\, equanimity\, creativity\, gratitude and joy. \n\n\n\nMost sessions are led by Kelly Miller\, a Certified Mindfulness Teacher\, Director of Mindfulness and Well-Being Programs and Associate Dean for Learning and Research Services at University of Miami Libraries. Professor Scott Rogers\, director of the University of Miami School of Law’s Mindfulness in Law Program\, will lead a special session on Oct. 7. Visitors can travel between locations using the city’s trolley service or Freebee on-demand vehicles. \n\n\n\nGalleries\n\n\n\nLeica Store Miami | 372 Miracle Mile \n\n\n\nLeica Store Miami presents Wanderlust\, a photography exhibition featuring work by alumni of the store’s photography workshops and tours. The exhibition includes photographs by 35 photographers taken across 17 countries\, including Japan\, Norway\, Patagonia\, Namibia\, Bolivia\, the Faroe Islands\, Lisbon\, and Greenland. \n\n\n\nA digital presentation features more than 150 additional photographs submitted for the exhibition. Wanderlust remains on view through August. \n\n\n\nH. Benitez Fine Art Gallery | 233 Aragon Avenue \n\n\n\nH. Benitez Fine Art Gallery participates in September Gallery Night with a presentation of original works by artist Humberto Benítez. Visitors can explore the gallery’s collection during the evening. \n\n\n\nCernuda Arte | 3155 Ponce de Leon Boulevard \n\n\n\nCernuda Arte marks the 100th anniversary of artist Gina Pellón’s birth with Gina Pellón: Centennial. The exhibition features more than 20 paintings\, collages\, and works on paper by the expressionist artist. \n\n\n\nVisitors can also view more than 225 additional works by 20th- and 21st-century international modern and contemporary artists. Cernuda Arte will participate in Gallery Night from 6 to 9 pm. \n\n\n\nCoral Gables Museum | 285 Aragon Avenue \n\n\n\nCoral Gables Museum offers free gallery admission during Gallery Night\, along with a cash bar\, happy hour specials\, and a live performance by Glass Blocs featuring music influenced by 1980s New Wave\, New Romantic\, and Post-Punk. \n\n\n\nFour exhibitions are currently on view: “Many Voices\,” “One Nation: En Nuestras Palabras\,” “Local Leadership\,” “National Legacy: Coral Gables Mayors Across a Century\,” “La Vida es un Carnaval\,” and “George Merrick’s Vision: Revisiting Arva Moore Park’s Creating the Dream Exhibition.” \n\n\n\nVisitors can also see sculptures throughout the museum by artists including Jaume Plensa\, Ilse de Manzanares\, and Beatriz Kohn.

Brown is a Colombian writer and artist based in Miami whose work includes the monthly hand-drawn zine “Letters From Miami” and the chapbook series “Early Writings.” \n\n\n\nThe event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase. RSVP provides general admission\, but seating is not guaranteed\, and early arrival is recommended.

DESCRIPTION:Drummer and composer Lucas Apostoleris brings his trio to The Burrow on Sept. 4 for a night of contemporary jazz and improvisation. Doors open at 8 pm\, with the performance beginning at 9 pm. \n\n\n\nApostoleris\, a New England native now based in Miami\, has performed with musicians including Dave Liebman\, Kris Davis\, Walter Smith\, Fabian Almazan\, Troy Roberts\, and Martin Bejerano. His original compositions have appeared across three recordings\, including his latest release\, “It’s Been Good.” \n\n\n\nHe will be joined by Connor Rohrer on piano and Marty Quinn on bass. The performance runs through 11:30 pm. Guests can select their seats when purchasing tickets. Instead of a first drink being included with admission\, $25 from each ticket will be applied as a discount toward the guest’s tab. \n\n\n\nThe Burrow asks guests to keep personal conversations to a minimum during the performance.

The Collins Quartet will perform a 60-minute program featuring music by both bands\, including “Clocks\,” “Fix You\,” “The Scientist\,” “Viva la Vida\,” “Radioactive\,” “Thunder\,” “Believer\,” and “Bad Liar.” \n\n\n\nDoors open 60 minutes before the performance\, and late entry is not permitted once the concert begins. Guests must be at least 8 years old\, and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
