DESCRIPTION:Beginning May 1\, Cielo Tejido launches as part of the Giralda Sky\, transforming Giralda Plaza with a suspended installation of handwoven textiles. Created by artisan women from Etzatlán\, Mexico\, the work introduces a canopy of color and pattern across the pedestrian corridor. \n\n\n\nPresented with support from the Consulate of Mexico\, the installation highlights traditional weaving techniques and brings cultural craftsmanship into a public setting. The project marks the first phase of the Giralda Sky series\, with a second installation scheduled to debut in August.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Coral Gables Branch Library for a celebration of the original Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. The event includes a screening of the 1941 animated film “Raggedy Ann and Andy” with popcorn\, followed by activities for all ages. Guests are encouraged to bring a favorite doll or plush toy for photos with the historic dolls on display. \n\n\n\nThe original dolls were donated to the Coral Gables Branch Library by Myrtle Gruelle\, widow of Johnny Gruelle\, author and illustrator of the Raggedy Ann book series\, first published in 1918. The dolls were displayed at the library for many years before being relocated during renovations. They will be on view for this special event before being reinstalled at the branch later this summer. Following intermission\, the quartet is joined by pianist Marina Radiushina\, artistic director of the Miami Chamber Music Society\, for a performance of Johannes Brahms’ Piano Quintet in F Minor\, Op. 34. Presented as part of the Mainly Mozart Festival\, the concert combines new chamber music with one of the most recognized works in the piano quintet repertoire.
