Then the mumps shows up. \n\n\n\nGableStage presents the regional premiere of “Eureka Day\,” Jonathan Spector’s Broadway comedy about what happens when four self-consciously progressive parents are forced to take a stance on the school’s liberal vaccine policy –– and suddenly consensus isn’t so easy. SUMMARY:Vinyl & Cocktails "Latin: From Bossa to Son"
DESCRIPTION:The Burrow’s Vinyl Evening series turns its needle to Latin America for “From Bossa to Son\,” a curated listening journey that moves from the soft sway of Rio to the rhythmic pulse of Havana. The evening traces a path through bossa nova’s understated intimacy\, the improvisational spirit of Latin jazz\, the romance of bolero\, and the earthy\, percussive drive of son cubano\, each record revealing a different shade of the same cultural thread: melody\, rhythm\, and feeling in constant dialogue. \n\n\n\nExpect warm guitar lines\, delicate vocals\, and layered percussion giving way to deeper grooves and timeless voices. This is an evening designed to unfold at its own pace\, one record at a time. \n\n\n\nAll house beer\, wine\, sake\, and cocktails are included with the evening. A full bar\, wine bottles\, and light bites are available for purchase.

SUMMARY:An Afternoon with Crissa-Jean Chappell
DESCRIPTION:Author Crissa-Jean Chappell visits to celebrate the release of her new novel\, “Never Leave Me alone\,” in a free public event open to all ages. Books will be available for purchase the night of the event. An RSVP secures general entry but does not guarantee seating\, so early arrival is encouraged. \n\n\n\nIn “Never Leave Me Alone\,” seventeen-year-old Birdie lives for the rush: rooftopping abandoned hotels\, chasing the perfect shot for her Instagram alter ego\, Bad Altitude. Then she meets Micah\, a daredevil TikTok star with a taste for high-stakes stunts\, and everything shifts. When Micah falls to his death\, Birdie is left with more questions than answers. Retracing his final stunts and getting dangerously close to his brother Jayce\, she realizes someone is watching her\, both online and off. In this game\, there is only one rule: if you quit\, you die. \n\n\n\nCrissa-Jean Chappell was born in Miami and now lives in Brooklyn. She holds a PhD and MFA from the University of Miami and is a professor of creative writing at Lehman College. Her previous novels include “Total Constant Order\,” “Snowbirds\,” and “Sun Don’t Shine.”
