From Bach to Bonds

New Canon Chamber Collective brings together two powerful voices—Johann Sebastian Bach and Margaret Bonds—for an evening that moves between centuries, but speaks to the same truths. The program pairs selections from Bach’s “St. Matthew Passion” with Bonds’ “Simon Bore the Cross,” a work rooted in the tradition of African American spirituals.
